Sandy Fischer, Project Manager for Winslow Tomorrow, asked me for photos to be used at the 11-13 7: p.m. at City Council Chambers Community meeting to comment on and review the in-progress Master Plan for Waterfront Park.

Having spent the time pulling a collection of images together, it seemed like I might go ahead and create a website w/ slideshows and maps.

I included a page with the enlarged map for Winslow & Eagele Harbor from our map (which is now at the printer), the City of Bainbridge Island Guide to Walking, Cycling, and Paddling.

So, here’s a link to the website I created:
Waterfront Trail to Winslow Waterfront Park.

Dave & Alice narrated a slide show describing their walks on Bainbridge at the Library Sunday, 10-22. The meeting room was packed to overflowing, and something more than 100 books were sold following the presentation.

You too can get your own copy for $12.95 with all proceeds going to the Bainbridge Island Land Trust. Contact the Land Trust at 206-842-1216, or go to http://www.bi-landtrust.org/.

Copies are also available at Eagle Harbor Books, The Traveler, Bay Hay & Feed, and the Bainbridge Island Chamber of Commerce.

Below is a photo I took of the authors with their book just after the event.

This is a photo I took two years ago on Moji. I pass through often on my bike rides, and that day saw a group of kids in costume. One of the moms encouraged the kids to keep playing, and I got a few nice shots. When I was looking for a photo to make a readerboard slide for BITV, this photo seemed timely. I added text in photoshop using the same fonts as our signs. BITV will run this slide through Halloween, and then I will them a new slide weekly.

Please slow down and pass wide when you are driving a car and see a horse and rider sharing the road. Horses can move very quickly when scared. Please pay attention and pass with care.

Here are photos of the group which met for this years RAW with discussion of challenges and accomplishments at stops along one route kids might follow riding a bike to school at Sakai & Woodward. As we were finishing up, a Dad & kid rode by to remind us of the importance.

One of the things I most enjoy about cycling on Bainbridge is seeing the flora and fauna along the road.

This Sunday I stopped at Head of the Bay to see what another photographer was looking up at, and saw that he was taking pictures of a mature Bald Eagle sitting in a tree above the road. My Canon 12X zoom camera which I carry in my bike trunk allowed me to get several good photos of the eagle before it flew off. We speculated it might have been watching for the opportunity to dine on a stray gosling further down the road.

Then I also got a set of pictures of the geese crossing the road, and a (typical for Bainbridge) thoughtful driver waiting for them to cross.

Here is a photo of the motorist sharing the road with the Canada Geese, and another of the eagle.

This is a test of the blog broadcasting system.  We will return to our usual programming once Dennis creates it.
